This moratorium was established by the<strong>Decree Law 3\/2022<\/strong>, which suspended the granting of new licenses for a period of four years, in order to give time for territorial planning and establishing the tourist carrying capacity of the islands. The result has been a long period of lockdown and strong pent-up demand in the sector.<\/p>\n<p>As pointed out in the<strong>Agreement of the CBAT Governing Board of July 30, 2025<\/strong>, the Third Transitional Provision of Decree Law 4\/2025 provides for a procedure for the acquisition of 500 tourist places for accommodation in buildings cataloged or declared assets of cultural interest (BIC).<\/p>\n<p>Initially, the deadline to submit applications was scheduled for June 16; however<strong>due to technical problems<\/strong>The impossibility of resolving the call was declared and it was agreed to open a new procedure, within the framework of which applications can be registered<strong>starting September 9, 2025<\/strong>.
