HeConsorci Borsa d’Allotjaments Turístics (CBAT)has scheduled for this month of September the procedure for the acquisition and reservation of500 tourist places for accommodation in buildings listed or declared assets of cultural interest (BIC).
This is a particularly relevant milestone, since in recent years the possibility of obtaining new places has been conditioned by amoratorium on tourist establishments. This moratorium was established by theDecree Law 3/2022, which suspended the granting of new licenses for a period of four years, in order to give time for territorial planning and establishing the tourist carrying capacity of the islands. The result has been a long period of lockdown and strong pent-up demand in the sector.
As pointed out in theAgreement of the CBAT Governing Board of July 30, 2025, the Third Transitional Provision of Decree Law 4/2025 provides for a procedure for the acquisition of 500 tourist places for accommodation in buildings cataloged or declared assets of cultural interest (BIC).
Initially, the deadline to submit applications was scheduled for June 16; howeverdue to technical problemsThe impossibility of resolving the call was declared and it was agreed to open a new procedure, within the framework of which applications can be registeredstarting September 9, 2025. As official sources have confirmed to us, thePlaces will be assigned based on the order of submission of applications., it is especially important to present with the application all the documentation required for it to be considered validly formulated.
