From today, 13 October, until 24 October 2025, any person, company or entity may consult the text of the Draft Agricultural Law of the Balearic Islands and submit contributions.
As stated in its Explanatory Memorandum, the Draft Law seeks to modernise the agricultural sector and make it more profitable, recovering measures from the 2014 law and adding new tools to promote activity, innovation and sustainability in the Balearic countryside. Its objectives include economic stimulus, recognition of insularity, improvement of agricultural structures, generational renewal, enhancement of local and quality products, technological innovation, good practices and the promotion of forest management, biomass and alternative energies.
The hearing and public information period allows citizens, companies and entities to express their opinions and submit proposals on an already drafted regulatory project. It is an essential stage to guarantee transparency and participation in the preparation of rules that may affect them.
